Funding & Sponsorship
Funding
The school is financed by sponsors and donations. Sponsors each pay a minimum of £50 a year to sponsor a child. Sponsorship pays for over 50% of the annual running costs of the school, principally the payment of teachers’ salaries. The shortfall in running costs and other capital projects are completed as a result of donations from individuals, organisations and fundraising activities. We are particularly grateful for all the support in recent years from the Friends of Prospect House School.
Other fundraising events have included Gambian Evenings in the village hall at Stiffkey, where Gambian food was eaten and entertainment was provided by Jole drummers. There has also been a Gambian evening held at Temple Balsall in the West Midlands. More recently, Trustee Kevin Kelly had organised a series of well attended 80’s Afternoon Discos in the Shirley British Legion, Solihull. These events have raised valuable funds to keep the school funded.
Sponsorship
The current annual sponsorship is a minimum of £50. All sponsorship money goes directly towards the running of the school.
Sponsorship money is payable in August to coincide with the start of the school year. All sponsors will be sent a sponsorship form in July to complete and return, together with a cheque. Payment can also be made by bank transfer or standing order.
During the first term (i.e. before Christmas) sponsors will receive a photo of their child and a newsletter. At the end of the school year, sponsors will be sent a school report on their child’s progress during the year.
Many thanks to all those who have sponsored a child or teacher at the Albaraca Nursery School.
